2022 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL: ASIA presented by the Sundance Institute and XRM Media is proud to announce the return of the 2022 edition of the festival on Thursday 25 – Sunday 28 August, 2022 in Jakarta, Indonesia with support from IDN Media.
The Festival is an expansion of the Sundance Institute’s programming, further championing and promoting visibility for independent storytelling before a wider global audience. Our aim is to support, connect, promote and celebrate the independent film community across Asia, while showcasing a selection of films from the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.
Join us for our film screenings, a short film competition, and panels with local and international filmmakers for our inaugural in-person Festival in Jakarta, as we look ahead to explore new voices and emerging talents together.
“We are thrilled to be collaborating with XRM Media for the first in-person edition of Sundance Film Festival: Asia in Jakarta. We are joined by a group of filmmakers whose work represents the independent spirit of the Sundance Film Festival and we can’t wait for local audiences to experience the humor, emotion, and beauty of these films. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate independent filmmaking in Indonesia and to create the space for conversation and an exchange of ideas during this weekend.”
— Kim Yutani, Director of Programming, Sundance Film Festival
